Mstari's Story

Meet Mstari, our adorable baby zebra, and the newest member of our orphanage family! 

Mstari, meaning ‘stripe’ in swahili, was rescued on Valentine’s day. He was found alone in Solio Ranch, desperately seeking protection from the cattle, and hiding amongst them.

Initially shy and reserved, Mstari’s confidence has blossomed, thanks to the gentle, loving care of our dedicated team.

Mstari is a clever and inquisitive boy. It didn’t take him long to discover the source of the milk, and now can often be found eagerly waiting outside the kitchen for his daily feed. It’s his favourite time of day, and the sound of his joyful suckling brings smiles to all of us.

He now shares his enclosure with Alcatraz, our wise old tortoise , who we like to think keeps a watchful eye on him. Together, they embody a beautiful balance : the wisdom of age and boundless excitement of youth.
