Nyota's Story

Nyota, whose name means star, was rescued at just four months old. She had been abandoned after a territorial fight left her separated from her mother, with no way to return.

From the start, she showed a strong will to keep going. Quiet but alert, she began adjusting to her new surroundings one small step at a time.

One of the most beautiful parts of her early days here has been her friendship with Malaika, the youngest orphan at the sanctuary. The two bonded quickly, and that connection has helped Nyota feel safe and more at home. They eat together, rest near each other, and seem to find comfort in simply being close.

Nyota is still young, but she’s doing well. With daily care, gentle routines, and the presence of a friend by her side, she’s beginning to grow and explore her world.

She is a calm and steady presence, and we’re glad she’s here.
