Ruka is a very young Thomson’s gazelle who was found alone in the wild, just a few days old and separated from his herd. He was weak, scared, and much too small to survive on his own.

Since arriving at the orphanage, Ruka has been slowly gaining strength. His legs are still wobbly, but he’s already showing interest in the world around him. He drinks from his bottle, rests in soft bedding, and is looked after around the clock.

​

He is quiet and alert, with wide eyes that follow every movement. Even Zuri the eland wandered over to meet him, gently curious about the newest arrival.

Ruka is still at the beginning of his journey, but he is safe now and doing well.
